This is why AAEON is happy to announce the introduction of a fanless option to its UP Xtreme i11 Edge family.
The Fanless UP Xtreme i11 Edge is expertly engineered to dissipate heat via a heat sink, despite its compact size. This removes the need for a fan, while retaining its capability to provide AI-ready solutions.
For applications requiring lengthy, uninterrupted use, fan-based platforms can be susceptible to the accumulation of dust. Further to this, a fan-based platform can limit the suitability of an application for particular settings, such as in the case of medical applications requiring sterile atmospheres, where the presence of a fan may compromise this.
By installing a heatsink, the Fanless UP Xtreme i11 Edge can dissipate its operational heat while avoiding the potential negatives of fan-based platforms, prolonging the product’s life, and making it suitable for automation applications in manufacturing and transport.
Same Compact Form Factor
The Fanless UP Xtreme i11 Edge is small and lightweight (124mm x 152mm x 66.5mm), giving it an advantage when it comes to deployment in confined spaces. As such, there is a wider range of application options open to customers.
A Wealth of Expansion Options
Despite its diminutive size, the Fanless UP Xtreme i11 Edge retains the rich I/O and expansion options of its fan-based counterpart. Featuring several M.2 expansion slots, multiple USB ports, and optional PCIe x 4 slots, the Fanless UP Xtreme i11 Edge offers customers a wealth of expansion options.

Powered by 11th Generation Intel® Core™ i7/i5/i3/Celeron® Processor SoC (formerly Tiger Lake UP3), the Fanless UP Xtreme i11 Edge delivers as much as a 20% improvement in performance over the previous generation, along with up to 64GB of DDR4 SO-DIMM memory, giving customers cost-efficient CPU performance.
