Combining the power of the Intel® Xeon® Processor platform (formerly Ice Lake-SP) with AAEON’s precision design, AAEON’s ARES-WHI0 is the server board capable of functionally optimizing the high-performance computing modules needed for smart city applications. 

With an expansion interface featuring five PCIe Gen 4 and two PCIe Gen 3 slots, the ARES-WHI0 supports NIC, GPU, and RAID expansion cards, making it both versatile in use and elite in performance for edge AI server, high-performance computing, and telecommunications solutions. The ARES-WHI0 also supports IPMI, allowing remote hardware monitoring and management without connecting to the system on-site.


Utilizing the performance of the Intel Xeon Processor, the ARES-WHI0 has the power to accommodate 100Gbs NIC expansion cards, easily installed via its wide range of PCIe Gen 4 ports to support heavy upstream and downstream data transference. Further, the ARES-WHI0 provides RAID support, which grants higher storage and I/O performance in facilitating private network support applications for company server rooms.

The ARES-WHI0 provides MEC Server and 5G base station solutions for smart city applications via its exceptional expansion options and high-speed storage features, such as its eight SATA III (6.0 Gbps) ports and six DDR4 2666MHz ports. As an Open Distributed Unit (O-DU), the board’s high-bandwidth, low latency data processing combined with superior 5G connectivity allows the board to send, receive, and process real-time data traffic via RRUs and cell towers on the edge.

Another solution provided by the ARES-WHI0’s multiple graphic card support is automated optical inspection (AOI) for Industry 4.0 applications. The performance of the Intel Xeon Processor can process high-resolution images via multiple GPU modules, in addition to processing data synergetic with the ARES-WHI0’s I/O features such as DIO, USB 3.0, and Case Open headers. As a result, the ARES-WHI0 can improve AI inferencing realization and increase image discrimination rates in AOI systems across a range of Industry 4.0 applications.
